A little about me

I founded Three C Communications in 2016 to capitalize on my 25+ years of experience in the field.

Shifting from a rewarding career writing and editing for the Ottawa Citizen, the major daily newspaper in Canada’s capital, Three C allowed me to continue to enjoy my love of the written word by sharing my expertise in a broader direction.

In 27 years at the Citizen, I honed impeccable editing, writing and communication skills, developed a flair for compelling storytelling and perfected an innate ability to effectively work with a multitude of personalities under constant deadline pressures.

My perspective “from the other side” as the recipient of countless pitches from individuals, businesses and organizations trying to stand out from the crowd gives me valuable insights into what works and what doesn’t when you’re trying to get your message across.

Coming from a background where I had to become an instant expert in whatever area was the story of the day, I have a natural ability to assess, evaluate and refine a range of details to determine what is the most clear, concise and correct way to share what needs to be said.

How I work

I take a collaborative approach to your message. You’re the expert in your business; I’m the expert in how to craft your communication needs to effectively get your message across.

I assume the position of the audience to best determine how your message or material will be perceived and understood, but I balance that with your goals and required outcomes to meet both needs.

I take the time to learn what you hope to achieve with your communication efforts and work with you to determine the best way to accomplish that.
