One of the fun things I’ve been doing in recent years is hosting the speakers’ stage and presenting talks at Ottawa’s three home shows each year: the Home & Garden Show in March, the Fall Home Show in September or October, and the Home & Remodelling Show in January.
It’s an exhausting four days, but it’s also a lot of fun.
This year at the Home & Garden Show in March – the largest of the home shows Ottawa sees each year – along with hosting duties I was able to put together and moderate two panels:
- One on renovating towards a net zero home with industry experts and a representative of the Canadian Home Builders’ Association
- And one on making the most of your outdoor spaces with landscaping experts and the president of Landscape Ontario
We were able to share a ton of valuable information for show visitors and I turned the talks into articles shared on my housing website, All Things Home.
Hosting and speaking at the shows is a collaboration I look forward to repeating for the foreseeable future.
